Montana Death Rate 2nd Worse in the United States

Montana has the distinction of the highest premium cost for workers' compensation insurance in the US. One of the factors in the high premium rates is the high rate of injurious incidents, including those that lead to death. Separate from workers' compensation, as reported on May 24, 2012, Montana's death rate of injury-related deaths, at 86.5 per 100,000 people, is the second highest in the United States according to a recent report.
