It an intruguing and stunning finding, an insurer was held liable for the death of an injured worker that was over-prescribed multiple, high dosages of medication…AFTER denying the request once, the prescribing physician’s sister issued another prescription which was filled and led directly to the death of the insured worker.  Read Joe Paduda’s article here, about the case here, and the legal finding holding the insurer responsible for the death here.  This is not only an absurd result across the board, it is terribly sad for the family of the worker.
